Some stories are best left untold, but it's hard to keep a secret buried when the evidence of its existence is permanently engraved in your flesh.

Parker Aislyn is a 17-year-old girl bearing a scar that holds a dark story behind it. She has managed to keep her shadowed past buried alongside the memory of her best friend, young Elliot Sparrow, who was lost in the same tragic event. Now, five years after the incident, evidence of Parker's past refuses to stay buried. Evidence of that awful day begins to resurface, and the connections to her past grow impossible to ignore.

Her scars awaken the power of sight- a gift that shows her the coming ruin of her world. To stop it, Parker must unite with four other survivors, each marked by the scars of touch, taste, smell, and hearing, and confront the man that stole her childhood before reality itself crumbles at her feet.

A Sneak Peek of The Scars Tell Her Story: The Blood-Cursed Dagger

With every breath the wild boy breathed, the forest seemed to breathe with him. So, when he saw the one-eyed girl walking alone through the woods in the night, he could’ve sworn the wind stopped too as he held his breath.

She was a sight to behold; a thing of beauty with a tragic story carved into her flesh- just like him. Auburn hair fell across her face like a curtain, and she pulled it back into a tight ponytail as she walked- no, not walked, but stumbled through the forest. She was not particularly graceful; perhaps a courtesy of missing an eye or not being acquainted with the woodland’s sort of dark. Either way it was not secret that she was on unfamiliar terrain. Her weary glances in every direction told him that.

The boy sat perched in the treetops, on a low branch that shrouded him in its leafy canopy. He watched the girl with keen eyes. He knew who she was; he would recognize her anywhere, even after all these years. But would she recognize him?

Once she had left his sight, the boy leapt from his perch, landing in a crouching position in the leaves. He didn’t need to follow her closely; he knew exactly where she was heading.

He would meet her there.
